Anastrozole (Aridex or Arimidex) can be used as a post cycle, too. In this case use would start at the end of your cycle. However, it is recommended to use Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) or Clomid (Clomifene Citrate) for a post cycle. This is because the during the post cycle, you want your hormone production to go back to normal. Arimidex inhibits estrogen production where Clomid and Nolvadex simply block estrogen receptors but do not affect your production of estrogen. Estrogen is important in the male body and must be present for strong bones. It is only when estrogen is in excess that it is a problem. Both Arimidex increases the body's natural testosterone production making it a good option for a post cycle. Dosing:
Arimidex/Aridex/Anastrozole last for 48 hours in your system. So there is no need to take it every day. A half of a 1mg pill every other day is the standard body builder dose. Taking more does not mean you will see more benefits. Also, Arimidex is processed through your liver, so you don't want to take any more than necessary and don't want to stay on this pill for a prolonged period of time. Some people have gotten good results taking only 1/4 of a pill a day, or 0.25mg. Side Effects
Many of the side effects of anastrozole are caused by the lowering of estrogen. Estrogen is essential for a properly functioning system for men too. When estrogen gets too low it can cause fatigue, weakness, joint pain and headaches... Anastrozole also has a tendancy to negatively affect cholesterol, especially in conjunction with anabolic steroids. High blood pressure can also result from anastrozole use. So, you want to keep the duration of use short, and make sure you have a healthy lifestyle and healthy diet while you are taking it. Don’t neglect cardio! Cardio is key for a heart strong and to ward off negative effects of anabolic steroids and anastrozole. For a post cycle, it is better to use Nolvadex or Clomid (SERMS is their class of drugs, while Arimidex is an AI). This is because post cycles are about getting your body back to normalization after taking a cycle. Since aromatase inhibitor drugs like Arimidex block estrogen production and reduce your circulating estrogen, your body can’t quite get back to normal while on them. SERM drugs like Nolvadex and Clomid don’t affect circulating estrogen, they just block the estrogen receptors. Both AI’s and SERM’s do stimulate the body to make testosterone however.
